Press Release from SSSD; May 13, 2026 — Steamboat Springs High School Receives Toshiba America Foundation STEM Grant

Big news for STEM education at Steamboat Springs High School

SSHS has received a $9,475 grant from the Toshiba America Foundation to expand hands-on engineering opportunities for students through advanced 3D scanning technology. Students in the Engineering CTE pathway will use the new equipment to analyze, redesign, prototype, and innovate using real-world engineering processes.

The technology will help students gain experience with industry-level tools and introduce them to advanced “reverse engineering” concepts used in engineering and product design careers.

“This technology gives students the opportunity to engage in authentic engineering experiences using the same types of tools and processes found in industry,” said Dan Brabec, Head of the Science and Engineering Department at SSHS.
