Routt County Public Health has updated the recent confirmed COVID-19 death from Casey’s Pond. “The deceased individual had moved into Casey’s Pond this year and was not yet fully vaccinated. The infection transmission was believed to have occurred from an unvaccinated individual who recently tested positive for COVID-19 and had been in close contact with the deceased.”
Casey’s Pond is also reporting that they have had 157 negative results for COVID-19 from their most recent round of testing. From the Casey’s Pond website: “This represents the majority of residents and team members in every level of living at Casey’s Pond! We continue to be vigilant in our virus mitigation efforts.”
Regarding the Casey’s Pond employees who were not vaccinated, “According to federal, state, and local directives, unvaccinated team members may continue to work and are required to follow virus protocols. There is no federal, state, or local mandate for workers to receive the vaccine. As a company, we have not mandated the vaccine.”
Executive Director Brad Boatright adds, “All residents had received at least one or both doses of the vaccine. Both team members did not receive the vaccine. The team members declined the vaccine when offered for personal reasons. Both were following virus protocols, including screenings, testing, wearing a mask, and hand hygiene.”
