
One week from today, re-paving will begin throughout Steamboat Springs. About 10,000 tons of asphalt will be laid across 160 miles of streets, six miles of alleyways, 37 parking lots and 105 cul-de-sacs within city limits. That’s about double from last year since not as much was done because of the pandemic and budget cuts. Then starting June 14, the striping begins over the newly paved roads. City staff asks that residents be patient and to expect some delays and detours during the paving and striping.
The following streets or sections of streets are scheduled to be re-paved or receive a surface treatment:

“The paving program was significantly reduced last year due to the pandemic and budget cuts across the city,” commented Streets Superintendent David Van Winkle. “We’re looking forward to nearly doubling the amount of asphalt in the program this summer as we work to ensure our roadways stay in top shape.”
