Bond of $50,000 was not reduced Thursday for Jessica Ann Stahl. She’s the 45-year-old woman accused of hitting and killing 25-year-old Lacey Lewis of Steamboat Springs. The fatal vehicle-pedestrian accident happened in Parker, Colo., on June 16. Charges against Stahl include Vehicular Homicide and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. Judge Larry Bowling denied the bond reduction, saying he is most concerned about public safety because of Stahl’s past history with drugs and driving under the influence, than failure to appear. Stahl’s next court appearance is at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28. Link to join the hearing

Be bear aware. They’re hungry and looking for food and will rip through a screen door or climb through an open window. And then they’ll keep coming back, like a bear has been doing in a Strawberry Park neighborhood. CPW is aware.
