Steamboat Resort will stay open an extra week, through April 16. Steamboat Resort leads Colorado in snow, with back-to-back months with 100 inches of snow (December and January). The slopes of Steamboat has one of the deepest bases in a quarter century.
Loryn Duke with Steamboat Resort says, “Thanks to the love from Mother Nature and the dedication of our incredible staff, Steamboat Ski Resort has decided to extend our ski and ride season through April 16.”
Duke says it’s something that hasn’t happened much. There was a single-day extension in 2007 and a week extension in 1993.
Flights into Hayden/Steamboat airport on Southwest and United are available through spring.
More details on the extra week will be out soon, but Duke says guests can expect most lifts and many restaurants to stay open.
