Craig City Council is having a special council meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss the continuing of the Declaration of a Local Disaster, which was approved last Friday. It is set to expire this Friday. Craig City Council will discuss a resolution to approve a continuance. Moffat County Commissioners also declared a Local Disaster Emergency last week, due to the flooding and potential of severe flooding in Moffat County. They’re meeting Thursday as well, to discuss the extension of the declaration with Todd Wheeler, with the Office of Emergency Management.
The Town of Hayden is having a meeting for any flood victims who may need long-term assistance. It is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hayden Town Hall.
You can also meet the two superintendent candidates for the Hayden School District. There is a Meet & Greet in the Hayden School Commons from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday.

A group called Operation Veteran Strong has been visiting Northwest Colorado communities to reach out to veterans and tell them about free resources that are available.
Frank Lahtinen is a Marine Corp Veteran and Vice President for Operation Veteran Strong.
“It’s important that we’re up in Northwest Colorado to reach out to the rural veteran community. We’re being sponsored by the Veteran Administration as well the Colorado Public Health Department to try and help end the suicide rate in the rural parts of Colorado and that’s why we’re here.”

The Routt County United Way Day of Caring is from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, May 24. Volunteers can sign up to help with a non-profit for two to three hours that day. Then there’s a lunch reception at Olympian Hall. Sign up to volunteer before May 3. Nominations for the Volunteer of the Year are due by tomorrow, April 21.
Remember the exposure notification system people had on their phones, that would alert you if you’ve been exposed to COVID-19? The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment says it will cease operations on May 11.
