Congratulations to the winners of the 2023 Crane-Inspired Creative Arts Scholarship Contest. The Visual Arts winner is Ella Piret from Steamboat Springs High School, for “Cranes in Spring Texture.” Ella receives a $3,000 scholarship. Beck Honebein of Steamboat Springs also wins first place for the Written Arts Category, and a $3,000 scholarship.
Second place winners receive a $1,500 scholarship. Those receiving Honorable Mention receive a $1,000 scholarship. The Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition adds, “CCCC thanks our generous donor, Gail Jensen, for making these scholarships possible.”
The work had to be original and accurately reflect the physical characteristics, behavior, and habitat of our Greater Sandhill Cranes.

The Yampa Valley Crane Festival Poster Contest continues through Saturday, July 15. This is for all kids ages 10-15 to submit a poster for the Yampa Valley Crane Festival. The winning poster will be displayed throughout the Yampa Valley. The poster must be original and accurately reflect the physical characteristics, behavior, and habitat of our Rocky Mountain Greater Sandhill Cranes. Contest Rules

The Crane Photo Contest is for anyone in the Rocky Mountain Greater Sandhill Crane range. There are four categories for both amateur and professional photographers. Photos can be taken of Greater Sandhill Cranes between Sept. 1, 2022, and Aug. 15, 2023. Photo Contest Rules
The Crane Coloring Contest is for kids ages three to 18. Pictures to color are available at any of the Yampa Valley libraries or on the CCCC website. Prizes will be awarded during the Crane Festival. Coloring Contest Rules
