The Moffat County Fairgrounds is hosting a Wild Horse Adoption. These are horses from the Piceance East Douglas Herd Management Area. Here’s Elijah Waters who is the Northwest District Manager for the Bureau of Land Management in Colorado.
“These are local horses and we are just really making an effort to get them out into the local community, in Rio Blanco, Moffat, and Routt counties. Since these horses were kind of born and raised in Northwest Colorado, we should have an adoption event in Northwest Colorado.”
There are about 35 horses. The minimum bid is $125. Public Viewing is from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, June 16, and then Saturday morning. The Silent auction is at 10 a.m. and bids will be awarded at 10:30 a.m. Bidders must be present on site, at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.
