It’s time for the county fairs in Northwest Colorado.
The Moffat County Fair in Craig runs through Aug. 13.
The Routt County Fair in Hayden is Aug. 11-20.
At BOTH county fairs, they are having a Kiss A Pig Contest to raise money. The 4-H kids will have buckets around the fair, collecting money to see who has to Kiss the Grand Champion Pig at the Livestock Auction.

In Moffat County, the pig kissing contestants are Sheriff KC Hume, Commissioner Tony Bohrer, also Shelby Massey or Kyler Scott. It’s $1 per vote.

In Routt County, the four who are battling out to see who has to kiss the pig are local real estate agent Jon Wade, Routt County Extension Agent Todd Hagenbuch, Routt County Sheriff Doug Sherar, and Shannon Lukens with Steamboat Radio News. There is also a QR code where you can donate to the person that you want to kiss the pig. And they’ll be collecting at the fair and then the pig kissing happens on the night of the livestock auction.
All money goes to the 4H Livestock Judging Team.
