Twenty-four SSWSC Athletes Named to Rocky Mountain Division All-Star Team
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Twenty-four athletes across the disciplines of alpine, freestyle, ski jumping, and Nordic combined from the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) were recently named to the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Rocky Mountain Division (RMD) All-Star Team. The 2023-2024 All-Star Team includes 63 athletes, 29 alpine skiers, 24 freestyle skiers, and ten ski jumping and Nordic combined athletes. Making the team is considered one of the highest honors attainable within an athlete’s division. The RMD All-Stars are named to the team based on race results from the previous season and must complete a rigorous athlete fitness assessment conducted each fall.
The five SSWSC freestyle athletes named to the team are Anabel Ayad, Peyton Billeisen, Abby McLarnon, Isabel Powell, and Xander Tatar-Brown. The 9 SSWSC alpine athletes are Adrian Beauregard, Caman Beauregard, Katharina Cosby, Logan Grosdidier, Jeremy Nolting, Abby Olson, Laiken Roth, Noelle Roth, and Curtis Zanni. All ten athletes on the ski jumping and Nordic combined All-Star Team hail from Steamboat Springs—SSWSC is the only club in the division with training facilities for Nordic ski jumping. The ski jumping/Nordic combined athletes from SSWSC include Alexa Brabec, Haley Brabec, Jason Colby, Sawyer Graves, Austin Johnson, Eva Minotto, Owen Park, Emma Russell, Arthur Tirone, and Ella Wilson.
As part of the recognition, the alpine and freestyle athletes receive passes to resorts in Colorado courtesy of Vail Resorts, Alterra Mountain Company, and Colorado Ski Country USA.
“It’s important first to thank the Rocky Mountain Division for their decades of work to support, recognize, and promote snow sports in our region. RMD has been a close partner of the SSWSC and all clubs in our region, providing direct support to athletes, coaches, and officials that has raised the level of our sports. We are very proud that a remarkable 24 of the total 63 athletes named to this year’s All-Star roster are from the SSWSC, reflecting the commitment and success of our athletes across alpine, freestyle, ski jumping, and Nordic combined. All of the athletes who have been named to the All-Star roster from across RMD deserve this recognition, and I look forward to following their results this winter and down the road,” said Dave Stewart, SSWSC Athletic Director.
