The KRAI Holiday Drive is all day this Friday, Dec. 1, one day only this year. Please swing by Centennial Mall any time from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The four nonprofits collecting food, toys and presents, and gift cards are Interfaith Food Bank, Christmas for Seniors, Christmas for Kids, and Open Heart Advocates.
Betsy Overton is the executive Director of Connections for Kids, who offers the Christmas for Kids program. Here is a list of some of the things that they need.
“We are looking for new, unwrapped toys. We need bikes, we need Legos, we need dolls, we could use basketballs and footballs and that kind of thing, and sleds. Toys for little ones like babies, birth to three, as well as like Hot Wheel race car sets, RC cars. Those are some of the things that we could really use this year.”
To sign up to receive Christmas gifts from Christmas for Kids, fill out an application at Connections 4 Kids, 601 Yampa Ave. Apply before Monday, Dec. 4.
Overton is at the drive every year, helping unload vehicles bringing by presents for the Holiday Drive.
“The drive supports families who are struggling and need help providing Christmas for their kids. So this is just a service that we offer so their kids have a good Christmas and holiday season.”
This is the 25th year for the KRAI Holiday Drive, brought to you by Memorial Regional Health and Yampa Valley Bank. We are all very proud to help make a difference in the Moffat County community. Find out more at KRAIRadio.com See you Friday.
