The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Liman Mountain Center is officially open. It is an instructional space for older Winter Sports Club kids and coaches, with a workout area in the Torian Plum Building near the base. Here’s SSWSC Chief Operating Officer Jon Nolting.
“To have a space at the space of the resort is something that we’ve never had and it’s critical, for a lot of reasons. But the thing I’m most excited about is the opportunity for the kids to be able to do activation and warm up before they go out on snow, which will allow them to train and compete better, and then do recovery and video right when they get off the snow, so they can get home and finish up with homework and do all the things they have to do as a student and a kid.”
The space was donated by Linda and Les Liman of Twin Enviro. Les Liman used to be on the Winter Sports Club Board of Directors.
SSWSC is responsible for operating costs of the building. More programming possibilities will be explored. The club hosted a gathering and ribbon cutting Thursday afternoon.
