Prom season at local high schools is approaching. Local prom committees would appreciate your support with the local proms and especially After-Proms. This is where students enjoy a fun, safe, drug- and alcohol-free event after their prom.
The After-Prom committees at the local schools count on financial contributions from the community.
Here’s more on how you can help. And if you are with an After-Prom Committee and have more details and information, please email Shannon@SteamboatRadio.com and it can be added here.
Steamboat Springs High School is Saturday, May 11
SSHS Juniors and Seniors enjoy prom on May 11, followed by the FREE After-Prom event at the high school.
For more than 20 years, parents have organized the After-Prom to keep the kids entertained and in a safe location until early morning the next day. The After-Prom committee has chosen a dazzling theme which will turn the commons area of the SSHS into an unrecognizable place where the kids are entertained from 11.30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Every year, the Steamboat community generously pitches in to help out. This year, the After-Prom committee needs to raise at least $3,000 from parents and individuals in the community, to fund this incredibly popular AfterProm activity. There is a QR Code/Link to be used this year, to make it easier.
SSHS is helping the After-Prom committee by letting them be able to use the Schoolfundr this year to make donations more seamless. The system will fill in a default ‘tip’ to cover the cost of payment processing, but you will have the option to change that amount or not leave a tip.
The event is 100% dependent on financial support from the community. All donations are tax deductible. Checks can also be made out to SSHS After Prom and delivered or mailed to Steamboat Springs High School.
