Thursday was the official groundbreaking to begin the $3 million renovation of The Veterans Center at 924 Lincoln Ave. in downtown Steamboat Springs. Bruce Hannon is on the Veterans Center board and helped raise the money to get the renovation going.
“It’s a monstrous weight off our shoulders. I can’t wait to take it easy for ten months during construction.”
On Saturday, July 6, the building will be turned over to the builder, which is Spectrum Construction Corporation of Denver. The renovation is expected to take nine to ten months. The Veterans Center building was built back in 1898 and now it is being completely renovated.
