The executive director of Yampa Valley Housing Authority, Jason Peasley, will be leaving the organization. According to a press release from YVHA, the Board of Directors have directed their lawyer to prepare a mutual separation agreement with Peasley, that will be voted on at the March 12 board meeting.

Peasley was the former City Planner for the City of Steamboat Springs, before becoming Executive Director of YVHA in November of 2012. He was also appointed to the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority Board by Governor Polis in 2023.

“We are trying to get a new truck. We’re replacing a 1999 Ford F-350. It’s a manual transmission. We love her but it’s time to actually get a truck that’s a little bit safer and easier to drive for the entire team.”

That’s John Williams with Routt County Search and Rescue.

“We need two trucks, for multiple missions. If one truck is down for maintenance, we always have to have one truck ready to go and that means two.”

An anonymous donor has offered a matching grant of up to $32,500 to reach the final amount needed to purchase the truck, which will be here in a few months.

RCSAR is taking donations, and they say every bit helps. The link to donate is at https://www.coloradogives.org/story/rescuetruck
