In Routt County and Moffat County election news…

 

Routt County has two candidates moving forward from the county assemblies this year. Sonja Macys was selected as the Democratic candidate for County Commissioner in District 3, and Doug Scherar was selected as the Democratic candidate for Routt County Sheriff. 

There are no Republican candidates running for any county offices in Routt County.

The primary election is June 30.

 

All deadlines for candidates affiliated with a political party to enter the race have now passed. However, unaffiliated candidates still have an opportunity to run. This is for all counties in Colorado.

Starting May 15, unaffiliated candidates can begin circulating petitions to get on the November General Election ballot. Each candidate will need to get signatures totaling 2% of the votes cast on the last ballot. These petitions are due July 9.

Anyone interested in running as an unaffiliated candidate should contact your local County Clerk’s office.
