In a county election update…

Routt County has two candidates moving forward from county assemblies this year. Sonja Macys was selected as the Democratic candidate for County Commissioner in District 3, and Doug Scherar was selected as the Democratic candidate for Routt County Sheriff. There are no Republican candidates running for any county offices in Routt County.

In Moffat County, there is one contested race for the Republican ticket in the primary. That is between Steve Maneotis and Doug Winters in District 3. Others moving forward are Clerk and Record Stacy Morgan, Treasurer Amy Wilson, Assessor Camie Herid, Sheriff Chip McIntyre, Surveyor Mike Fraher and write-in candidate Bill Baker, and Coroner Jesse Arthurs.

Anyone running on an unaffiliated ticket can pick up a petition to get signatures starting May 15.
