Downtown Steamboat Springs probably won’t be filled with trick-or-treaters for the Halloween Stroll this year. Steamboat Radio’s Shannon Lukens reports.

Routt County Public Health recently met with some of the staff from Colorado Mountain College to discuss plans for COVID-19, should there be an outbreak. Routt County Public Health Director Roberta Smith says having the contacts at CMC is important.

Most of the CMC students are taking their classes remotely.

An Adult Diversion Program is being set up through the 14th Judicial District Attorney’s office. The one-year program is funded by grants. It will serve the counties of Routt, Moffat, and Grand. It’s an alternative way to help certain adults interacting with the criminal justice system, who may have a mental health or substance abuse disorder.  A case manager will help each individual involved, who may be at high risk or high need for help.

United Way 20k day is happening today at Yampa Valley Bank from 11-2. Brian Harvey will be on site, and there will be grab and go sandwiches from Yampa Sandwich Company as well.

The tunnel on the Yampa River Core Trail that connects Howelsen Hill to Yampa Street will be closed for maintenance next week.  It’s the tunnel that runs under the railroad tracks. Contractors will be sealing the joints in the tunnel
