The ribbon-cutting for the new Cyber Security program at Colorado Northwestern Community College was Thursday. Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser was part of the ceremony. He said he knew CNCC was interested in a cyber security program.

Guests at the ribbon cutting in Craig were also given a Cyber Range tour.

 

The first week of school is wrapping up. There is no school today for Moffat County, Soroco, and Hayden kids. They’re all on a 4-day school week. Here’s JoAnn Baxter, president of the Moffat County School Board.

The CDPHE Vaccine Bus returns to Routt County, with free COVID-19 vaccines. It’s at the Stockbridge Transit Center in Steamboat on Saturday and the Oak Creek Farmers Market on Sunday.

  • August 27: Stockbridge Transit Center in Steamboat Springs, 10:00 am-6:00 pm
  • August 28: Oak Creek Farmer’s Market from 10:00 am-3:00 pm

 

This is the last weekend of the Steamboat Pro Rodeo. It’s tonight and tomorrow.

 

Girls can give hockey a try for free. That’s at 5:30 p.m. tonight at Howelsen Ice Arena. Gear is provided.

 

Tonight is the last chance to see over 200 oil paintings on display at Steamboat Art Museum. A reception is from 5-7 p.m. and the exhibit closes tomorrow.

 

The Meeker Mustang Makeover is this Saturday at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds. This is where 20 horse trainers from across Colorado compete to show how well they’ve trained a wild American Mustang horse. They’ve only had 120 days. Deirdre McNab runs the event.

The Meeker Mustang Makeover starts at 9 a.m. and ends with the auction and adoption of the mustangs around 7 p.m. People are competing from across Colorado, including Clark, Steamboat, Craig, Oak Creek, Meeker and Rangely.  2022 Trainers 

 

Sunday is the Walk to End Alzheimers in the Yampa Valley. It’s at Yampa River Botanic Park. Registration starts at 10 a.m.

  • First, in Moffat County, the Bulldogs host Resurrection Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Listen to that game on 93.7 or 102.3 KRAI FM or listen through KRAIRadio.com
  • The Steamboat Sailors are also at home, Friday night at 7 p.m. against Coal Ridge. Wear WHITE to the game, in honor of Sue White, a huge fan of Sailor Sports, who recently died.  Listen to the game Friday on KTYV 105.7 Sports on FM and find the link to watch through our website.
  • The Soroco Rams are also at home Friday in Oak Creek, with a 7 p.m. game against Belleview Christian.
  • The Hayden Tigers play at 1 p.m. Saturday. They’re away against Plateau Valley.
