Mountain Valley Bank warns of a scam. Text messages were sent out to residents about closing your card or account. Don’t call the number or release any personal information.
Local artist Sage Sullivan would love your help. She is looking for old or used horseshoes for a public sculpture she is doing at the base of the ski area. She’ll have a donation box at the Community Ag Alliance on Oak Street in Steamboat to drop some horseshoes off if you have any.
There is a lot happening this weekend.
Of course, Winter Carnival is in Steamboat Springs with the street events each morning and the parade around 11 a.m. on Sunday. It’s all on Lincoln Ave. Watch for detour signs. The Night Extravaganza is Saturday at Howelsen Hill. A full schedule is on our website.

Today, the Oak Creek Library is celebrating Debbie Curtis who is retiring.
“I am looking so forward to it. Traveling, cleaning closets and drawers, seeing the grandkids more, watching baseball. It’s going to be great.”
Curtis is the director of the South Routt Library District, where she has worked for 15 years. Curtis also has 32 years of public service with the State of Colorado. Everyone is invited to her Farewell Bash at 3:15 p.m. today at the Oak Creek Library and then moves to 4:45 p.m. at the Yampa Library. That’s tonight.
The Hope Pregnancy Center in Craig is hosting a Chili Supper and Silent Auction. It’s from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 in the Pavilion at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. The cost is $5 per person or $20 for a family.
Saturday morning at the Oak Creek Library is a presentation on Pottery, Old and New, with Margaret Chipman. It starts at 10 a.m. at the library on Main Street in Oak Creek.
Saturday in Craig is the 17th Annual Taste of Chocolate. The big event in downtown Craig, hosted by the Downtown Business Association. Hopefully, you got tickets.
The City of Craig is organizing some snowshoe hikes at Elkhead Reservoir. It’s from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Pick up your gear today through the City of Craig Parks and Recreation. For more information, call Travis at 970-826-2006.
The Vaccine Bus will be in the Walmart parking lot in Steamboat Springs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, if you need to get vaccinated for COVID. All vaccines are free.

Then Monday, the staff of U.S. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is holding mobile office hours in Northwest Colorado on Monday. Her staff will be there to answer questions or provide help from constituents. In Rio Blanco County, it’s from 11 a.m. to noon at the Meeker Chamber of Commerce on Market Street. In Moffat County, it’s from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the Craig Chamber of Commerce on Yampa Ave.

It’s Senior Night for the Sailor Basketball teams. The girls are at 4:30 p.m. and the boys are right afterwards. They’re playing Basalt. Listen on KTYV. And then listen to the Sailor hockey game, which is happening tonight in Breckenridge.
The Moffat County girls and boys play Summit tonight away. And then host Delta at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. Listen to those games on KRAI.

Good luck to the Moffat County girls Swim Team at the State Championships this weekend in Thornton. Today was the sendoff. The team headed to state is a combined regional team with four swimmers from Moffat County, three from Steamboat Springs, and one from Meeker.
