The KRAI Holiday Drive is all day this Friday, Dec. 1, one day only this year. Please swing by Centennial Mall any time from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Non-perishable food items are being accepted for the Interfaith Food Bank.
Gifts are also being accepted for Christmas for Seniors and Christmas for Kids, and Open Heart Advocates. Gift cards, especially from Walmart and City Market are also very helpful, as are financial donations.
Marci Marumoto with KRAI also organizes the Christmas for Seniors program. It’s for those 62 and older.
“Every senior can fill out an application. And on that application they tell me specifically what they would like and I do my very best to fill it and get them exactly what they want.”
Marumoto says gift cards are always great.
“I get a lot of requests for gift cards, like City Market or Walmart, Visa gift cards. They’re better for me if I can get them in increments of $25 each.”
Here are some of the items that are good for Christmas for Seniors.
“I always can use some warm socks, fuzzy blankets, art supplies, stamps, rolls of quarters, pajamas, slippers, flannels.”
All of the gifts are delivered to the seniors with help from volunteers.
The form to fill out with what you want, if you’re a senior, is at Sunset Meadows, Building 1, or at the KRAI offices at 515 Yampa Ave. The deadline to fill out that application is Dec. 7
This is the 25th year for the KRAI Holiday Drive, brought to you by Memorial Regional Health and Yampa Valley Bank. We are all very proud to help make a difference in the Moffat County community. Find out more at KRAIRadio.com
