Resurfacing of U.S. Highway 40 begins today on a 14-mile stretch through Milner. Paving work is from Mile Markers 112 to 126, which is the Xcel Energy Hayden Station to about five miles west of Steamboat Springs. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate commuter traffic, Monday through Friday. Work will also eventually be done overnight. Traffic will reduce to single lane, with alternating traffic. Expect delays up to ten minutes. Work will also include replacement of guardrails and safety enhancement on three bridges. Slope stabilization will also be done in the rockfall area of Mount Harris Canyon. United Companies is the contractor. The project is expected to last through mid-November.

Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club will host the Olympian Mindset Panel Series at Olympian Hall at Howelsen Hill Lodge, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 6. This is the third in a series that brings athletes, coaches, families, and the community together to hear directly from Olympians about the mental skills that shape elite performance.

Each session will focus on key themes such as resilience, motivation, identity, purpose, and season assessment. The panels will provide practical takeaways that athletes can apply in training, competition, and daily life. The series will be moderated by SSWSC Mindset Performance Coach Luke Brosterhous and is designed to support long-term athlete development across all SSWSC disciplines.
