Remember to register your pet with Routt County. It’s an ordinance requirement in the City of Steamboat Springs, required by law, according to Steamboat Springs Animal Control Officer Jennifer Good.
You’ll need a rabies vaccination certificate first and proof of spay or neuter. Registration can be done at your vet’s office or the Routt County Humane Society. The cost is $5 if your animal has been altered and $25 if it has not been. The law requires that all dogs must wear their current license on their collar.
