Update at 3:28 p.m. from Rachael Gonzales, the Northwest Region Public Information Officer for Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
“CPW local wildlife officers received a report of a possible wolf depredation in Jackson County on Sunday, June 9. A field investigation was conducted. Injuries consistent with wolf depredation were found on the calf, confirming the death was a result of wolf depredation. As you know, details on this can be found on the Gray Wolf Depredation Report webpage. CPW created this report to share pertinent information on wolf depredations with the public in a timely manner, while protecting the producer(s) information as required by state statute.”
Another calf has been killed by a wolf or wolves in Jackson County. It happened on Sunday and it has been confirmed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife on the “Confirmed Gray Wolf Depredation Information” page on their website.
We have requested any more details from CPW that they can provide. We are being told that it was on the western half of Jackson County. We will update this story if more details become available.
We have made repeated attempts to post this on social media but the post has been removed each time by Facebook.
